Full and Part-Time Cheesemongers – Crouch End, London

Mellis Cheese is an Edinburgh-based artisan business renowned for its premium cheeses, charcuterie, sundries, and alcohol. With five retail shops across Scotland, a robust restaurant supply chain, and monthly exports to Europe, we are dedicated to supporting local and international farmers and artisans.

We’re looking to build an enthusiastic and dedicated team as we open the doors to our first shop in London, Crouch End. This is an exciting opportunity to join us from the start of this new chapter – we are looking for both full and part-time Cheesemongers. If you’re passionate about all things Food and Beverage, with a flair for customer service we’d love to hear from you.

As a cheesemonger your responsibilities will include:

• Cutting and wrapping cheese
• Tasting, checking and overall cheese care
• General cleaning tasks to ensure shop standards are maintained
• Providing a premium service to our customers, assisting with product recommendations and pairings

A few things we ask of you:

• Enthusiasm for the world of F&B and to learn about cheese (no previous knowledge is required, however it is an advantage)
• An availability to work over the festive period – we expect commitment and availability from all our staff at this time
• Availability across days/hours a week – please discuss your availability further with the hiring manager during interview
• Previous retail and/or hospitality experience is desirable
• An energy and flair for providing exceptional customer service
• A self-starter and team player you’ll enjoy working as part of a small team
• Proof of right to live and work in the UK

Interview process – what to expect:

We aim to review applications within 3-5 to working days. If you are selected, we will arrange an introductory online interview. You should expect to discuss your relevant work experience and interest in the role. If successful, second stage interviews will be held on sight with our Retail Manager.
