Retail Manager – Morningside

We are searching for a sales-driven, food and beverage enthusiast who’s ready to take on the challenge of managing our Morningside shop.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Leadership: previous managerial experience of a small team is essential.
  • Team player and multi-tasker: with strong organisational skills you will balance administrative tasks alongside setting the company standard on the shop floor – driving sales and customer loyalty.
  • A passion for small scale artisan cheese and products.
  • Be available to work over the festive period (our busiest trading time; we need commitment from our managers during this time).
  • Personal License Holder (beneficial but not essential).
  • You will have previous retail and/or hospitality experience with a flair for exemplary customer service.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leadership of a small, close-knit team – in charge of creating rotas, managing annual leave and handling probation meetings.
  • Providing a premium service – you’ll build relationships with both wholesale and retail customers alike maintaining and building on our loyal customer base.
  • Meeting and exceeding quarterly sales targets – working closely with company directors on seasonal promotions and growth opportunities for the shop such as evening events with external suppliers.
  • Maintaining a clean hygienic shop – there is a lot of daily cleaning and standards are to be upheld with the utmost importance.
  • Stock control; ordering of appropriate levels and keeping wastage to a minimum.
  • Providing a positive working environment, you’ll champion your team’s growth and development.
  • Keeping up to date and operating in line with company policies and procedures.

Interview process – what to expect:

  • We aim to review applications within five to seven working days. If you are selected, we will reach out to arrange an introductory interview held online. You should expect to discuss your relevant work experience and interest in the role. Should you be successful, second stage interviews will be held on sight with a company director.
