Domaine Olga Raffault is unquestionably one of the long-time reference points for top-quality, traditional Chinon wines. Olga and her husband Pierre ran the estate until Pierre died in 1947. Olga then ran the business with the help of a German prisoner who found refuge at the farm after the war. The estate is now run by Olga’s daughter and husband.Grape(s): Cabernet Franc Location: France, Loire Organic/Natural: OrganicNotes: Earthy and smoky. Medium bodied with nice depth. The finish is short/medium and leaves a subtle tingle of acidity.
The medium-body allows the wine to pair with a wide variety of foods due to the naturally higher acidity and slightly reduced tannin. It pairs great with soft and goat’s cheese. Try it with our Selles sur Cher or Dorstone.
