Chose from our range of John Mellis Honey
A blend of honey from various floral sources harvested throughout the summer months including: nectar from clover, willow-herb, lime, wild raspberry, bramble and many others. With a mild, quite sweet flavour and smooth creamy texture plus the addition of some oil seed rape helps to give the fine grain structure.
The connoisseur’s choice made solely from the nectar from Scotland’s heather that blooms in August. A distinctive light “smokey” and aromatic flavour places heather honey in a class of its own.
In July hives are moved to the heather moors and initially the bees collect from the bell heather, clover and other flowers of the upland pastures. Latterly they gather the distinctive ling heather and the resulting blend is a honey with an extremely good flavour.
Gathered in the Spring mainly from trees including Sycamore, Hawthorn and Wild Cherry this Spring Scottish Honey is a real treat.
- Cut Comb
Traditionally gathered using artisan methods from the Highlands of Perthshire. Hand-cut from the frame and boxed straight from the hive. A highly prized seasonal delicacy.
