What we collect
When you place an order: your name, delivery address, email address, phone number, and the contents of your order. When you sign up to our newsletter: your email address only.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how our site is used — which pages are visited, your rough location, and the kind of device you're on. You choose whether to allow it the first time you visit, and you can change your mind at any time. We never use this data for advertising, and we never sell it.
Why we collect it
- To fulfil your order and deliver it.
- To contact you about your order.
- To send you the newsletter, if you've opted in.
- To comply with our legal obligations (tax, accounting).
Who else sees it
Shopify processes your order and payment. Our courier sees your delivery address. Resend sends your transactional emails. Google Analytics receives anonymous usage data, but only if you've accepted analytics cookies. None of these parties may use your data for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Order data — seven years (HMRC requirement). Newsletter address — until you unsubscribe. Account data — until you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, and delete your data. Email enquiries@mellischeese.co.uk to exercise any of these rights — we'll respond within 30 days.
