Five shops across Scotland, one in London. Walk in for a recommendation — walk out with cheese hand-cut to order.
Stockbridge
The beautiful area of Stockbridge boasts many independent shops, and our flagship sits across from the very popular Sunday market. The shop originated as an old butcher's, so you'll find some stunning features alongside our full range of products. Our newly opened back room lets you browse our extensive larder and wines before coming down to pick some hand-cut cheese.
Originally Iain's third shop — we've been supplying the local area from here for almost 30 years. Morningside is one of our bigger stores, offering our full range of products. Another former butcher's, we've settled into this beautiful building and are always listening to our local clientele.
On the curve of Edinburgh's most-photographed street. While the street has changed, our philosophy has not — great cheese, meats and provisions for new visitors, locals, and some fantastic restaurants in the area. This is the shop that started it all in 1993, well worth a visit if you're in the Old Town.
Our St Andrews shop on South Street — small but comprehensive, with just about the full range of products. Well known for its beautiful local bread and the Italian-led fruit and veg stands outside. The local for the Fife coast and the East Neuk.
The family's second shop, opened in 1995 after much demand from the west of Scotland. We used to store and mature our cheese in the basement here before the maturing rooms in Leith opened. A beautiful range of provisions, and one of the only shops where the counters sit against the wall — you can properly engage with the cheeses, a bit of a home-kitchen feel.
The newest addition to the family, opened in November 2025 and run by Mellis son Cameron. The shop was a butcher's for close to 150 years, and we've reinstated its original features to let both the shop and the cheese breathe again. We hope to be serving the local community here for as long as we have in Edinburgh.
